As much as the guy with a "Fuck Bush" sign is a douchenozzle, he should be allowed to carry it. These policemen are incompetent and if this went to trial, he'll win. You can't get a phony charge placed on you for freedom of speech.
Cohen v. California, folks.
The amount of police who know so little about the law would amaze most people. They are simpletons... the lawyers know the law and you just got to hope the judge agrees with your lawyer and not the other one in court.
It is not a breach of peace to have "Fuck" on a sign. "The First Amendment, as applied through the Fourteenth, prohibits states from making the public display of a single four-letter expletive a criminal offense, without a more specific and compelling reason than a general tendency to disturb the peace. Court of Appeal of California reversed." -US Supreme Court, Cohen v. California
@imanerd36 Agreed 100% with you, though not the "fuck bush" sign which is just lame but fully within the rights of the sign holder to carry.
That fat nutty chick flirts dangerously close with actually having a real charge put on her by the conduct in this video. You cannot get in the way of this arrest whether one agrees with it or not.
The supreme court of the United States doesn't expect you to put put it away. P.S.: How are the police being civil when they are clearly going against a court order?
