John Varvatos Artisan (2009) Fragrance/Cologne Review

A perfect scent for a cruise or the beach.

John Varvatos Artisan embodies craftsmanship while exuding a modern edge. The fragrance reinvents the "splash" feeling by blending state-of-the-art, abstract notes with classic citrus and herbal tones for a contemporary twist on the traditional cologne. The scent embodies an invigorating citrus explosion woven with modern woody notes.

The fragrance opens with Sicilian clementine, tangelo fruit, Mexican tangerine, aromatic thyme, Spanish marjoram and Greek lavender.

A heart adds North African orange blossom, Indian plant Murraya, combination of jasmine and orange, an ingredient used in creation of the first fragrance. There are three sorts of ginger: Nigerian, Chinese and "purple ginger" developed in Givaudan laboratory.

A base encompasses Kephalis wood and Geaorgewood, along with amber-like Belleambre and musky Serenolide.

@MrDare2bdifferent Thank you. : 0 ) I just have the cologne. I wouldn't use after shave for longevity issues.. I would just use more cologne and reapply. : 0 ) And, I wouldn't think something that doesn't last as long as the cologne would be helpful.

Good review Justin. Artisan is nice & the bottle is great, but does not last long enough for me to get a bottle. I wish it did. Did you buy the the body wash & or after shave to help with longevity issues?

@Guinea54 I have never smelled an EDP for men that I think is better than the orginal. I think EDTs do better for men. This does well for what it is. When I thought about it after I made the video.. I knew I was too hard on it. I should have discussed more of the positives. Its a fragrance that you want to be able to reapply. Its like an upgraded splash/EDC.

Nice review. I never tried this one, or any of them besides the original. I have the same longevity issues with the original. They need to start making EDP's

Very nice video. I have smelled this at the store as a tester and it does smell just like you said. It is very tropical and reminds me of a fruity drink. Yummy.
