Community Fish Tank: Fresh Water Aquarium

This is the Catspit Productions fresh water community aquarium or fish tank. It is about 8 months after the first aquarium video was posted. Since then I have had to remove all live plants due to fish eating them. They just wouldn't let them grow. I also had a bout with ick and lost several fish over time. That was o.k. because I wanted to add better fish. So this is the new and improved aquarium.

This tank is a 20 gallon, high with 2 Aquaclear outboard or hanging filters. One filter is a #70 or 300 gallons per hour filtration and it is set up like a normal filter with carbon, ammo carb, and filter medium. The second filter is a #50 or a 150 gallon per hour filtration. This smaller unit is set up with activated charcoal only. This is like a booster for clarity and toxins. This tank is about 2 and 1/2 years old and has been moved once. With a plecostomus and catfish, the tank is literally self cleaning. The filters are cleaned and changed once every month and that is all. Very easy maintenance. The light is a standard fluorescent tube that is left on for daylight simulation and turned off for night mode. The light is set on a timer. A few of the fish are over 2 years old and have been with the tank since the beginning.

  • @ayeitsashlyn Thank you! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Didn't that red tail shark get too big for the tank? I've seen some get up to like a 14 inches long.

  • @skeletoman Nope he actually flipped out somehow. Not too long ago. I don’t know how as I have a good cover and there is very little space for the fish to get through that way. I dunno how but he was on the floor in the back of the tank dead one morning... LOL. Maybe my cat was fishing! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • Whered u get that boat man? and this is one of the cooler set ups on you tube. Love that u have more than 2 fish in a 20 gal tank. Thats all i see and people are like well a fish needs atleast 6 gallons a piece. well i had a 10 gal and my bro did too and his cracked so now i have 3 goldfish and 2 plecos in a 10 gal tank. and they have been living for about 7 months now.

  • @Airsoft2897 Thank you very much! I think I got that at a Petco. Either that or Petsmart but it was a long time ago. I have never seen them in either store since. I wish I had bought two. Yea, I like a lot of fish but people say it’s too many. Most all of them are still alive. I have only lost a couple of Danios and a Tetra but they were almost 3 years old. All the others are over 3 years now but the tank is dirtier. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

  • @ThEsUbMaRiNeGirL Thank you very much! Yes they do. They say there are too many for good health. I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks for the support! ☠

  • @CatspitProductions people have a go at you about the amount of fish? thats stupid youve got room for 2 more angels in there but thats only unbtill you need to upgrade or they'd die cause angel fish get up to a foot in height fully grown !! otherwise those fish are fine from what I can see !!

  • @eszkokosik Thank you very much! A lot of people bark at me for the amount of fish in this tank but I have had no problems in keeping them alive and seemingly happy. Of course you always have the normal casualty every now and then. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠
