I've visited the Elephant Conservation Centre in the video. The mahuts treat the animals with all the dignity due.to such incredible beasts. If you want to see something unnaturally cruel then you should see the disgusting sight of these animals that have to perform in tourist areas. But not there in Lampang.

@loveforeignaccents It wasn't roped off, they were grabbing it with their trunks. If you look you can see that there's ample room for them to let go.

This is heartbreaking. One of the men sitting on the elephant had what appears to be a bullhook. Let them roam free, this isn't natural.

@ZacYoude Um, dude, seriously wrong on so many points. You can't reduce music simply to "sound with rhythm", while also pretty much anything has a rhythm...
But we don't need to get into it here.

These elephants live on a reserve. They are most likely rescues from logging businesses and street beggars who use baby elephants to beg. Training them to do things like this from time to time is a way to earn enough enough to continue running the sanctuary. Elephants are intelligent creatures that enjoy new things, and I'm sure they'd much rather be there getting to make noise now and again than being beaten to move fallen trees. Most of the time they are permitted to roam on their own anyway.
