Leo Laporte and Ray Maxwell discuss the technology behind 3D movies such as "Avatar" and "Up" -- how it works, which one is best, and which one you're likely to see in the future.
I think camera circular polarisers are actually a linear / circular polariser stack with the linear one facing the world. The linear polariser works as you would expect, but having a circular one on the back effectively removes any directional bias that might otherwise go on to cause problems with any innate polarisation of the sensor.
Great show as always Ray & Leo. Always pick up loads of info from you Ray in each of your shows. Just wish we had an Imax cinema near to us :( we saw Avatar in one of the RealD Cinemas.
damned shame his show got canceled. a nice change from the dumbed down media we are used to.

Great explanations Ray! I was curious as to how circular polarization worked. Thanks!
