Devo at Festival Hall Melbourne 31/07/08

Devo at Festival Hall 31/07/09 with cuts from a few songs including Uncontrollable urge, Whip it, Mongoloid, Freedom of Choice and a encore from Boojie Boy singing Beautiful World after he delivered a speech telling the audience that Devo in 1982 thought Australia was an untouched paradise and it was their dream come true to be back, really! And how all the ausidence must be the children of the people who were there at the same venue to see Devo on the New Traditionalists tour in 1982. There were 3 mentions of the '25 years' since Devo had played the same venue but I didnt catch them. Yes - I was there in 1982 - and had a grin on my face throughout this gig. Last quote "We are Devo. We are all Devo." Indeed.

Yeah, great show, plenty of the old stuff which was great... but almost ruined by that ridiculous version of B'ful World with Booji Boy at the end

It was a fantastic evening all-round! I even scored one of the smiley rubber balls Booji Boy threw into crowd at the end! We were standing in front of Bob Mothersbaugh all night... got a little squashed during "Uncontrollable Urge" and "Mongoloid", but it was well worth it! Even sung "We are Devo" into Mark's mic... truly a night to remember!

We were there last night, too! Right up front in the moshpit-- got to sing into Mark Mothersbaugh's microphone during "Are We Not Men" when he shoved it into the crowd! I can't believe it actually took moving all the way from the US to Tasmania for me to see this awesome band in person (it was always too hard to get tickets back in the 80's!)
