It's really too bad that a faction of the fanbase that wants this game in English is so opposed to changes/modifications. You think people who are so committed to preserving the original elements of the game would spend their time learning Japanese so they can experience it firsthand themselves instead of berating translators such as yourself. I apologize for bringing it up, the focus here should be on your product, but I just hope it doesn't discourage you from working on future projects.

Well then it is a good idea that you did your research because Luca sounds better than Ruca. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

@jasonisawesome as he said it was romanization..the japanese dont have L in their language so they replace everything with L to R

Crimson Nocturnal is translating Tales of Hearts. They seem to be handling all the debates well enough.
Looking forward to both translations myself: both teams seem to be very committed and talented despite being amateur volunteers.

wow you had just under 300 hours of gameplay and that was almost half a year ago. I can't imagine how many countless hours you've spent on this project. Thanks, man and take as much time as you feel you need to make this as good as you feel you can make it.

lolz you got a funny voice not a sexc voice xDDDD but gr8 work dude!

I can just imagine the hounding you would get by the conservative fanbase for Tales of Hearts. Klarth/Claus and Johnny/Karyl causes controversy and those changes are official. the people who complain about changes like that need to remember "beggers can't be choosers." every translator out there is going to translate something differently and people should just deal with that or find another translation.

All I know is that your ToP Psx translation was great, so I trust that you know what to do with this and (eventually) ToDr.
Well the original name IS Ruca. I'm guessing you guys just decided to use Luca for your own reasons, lol.

That's incorrect. The original name is ルカ. "Ruca" was a romanization of the name provided by Namdai and it certainly wouldn't be the first time they made a mistake in romanizing. The names provided by Namdai Japan have never been taken as gospel truth in official localizations. I did my research and came to the conclusion that Luca was the intended name.
