LEA Sandbox Opening - Chantal Harvey

I'm thrilled to announce the new Linden Endowment for the Arts "LEA Art Sandbox " is opening May 20, 2011 - at 12 noon!

The Linden Endowment for the Arts (LEA) exists to help people understand and create virtual art in Second Life. The LEA Art Sandbox exists for the same purpose, by giving Residents space to build and play and experiment with the tools of Second Life, as well as a community space to learn from others and collaborate.

We have 3 areas of interest in the new sandbox:

1) The general sandbox area - a big parcel of land with a long return time (if you are in the sandbox group).
2) A self-curating gallery, to provide SL artists a longer-term area to rez their work and allow other residents a place to browse the works of SL artists.
3) Building resource area: freebie build tools, textures, etc..

We also plan on doing something different, the 13th of every month is GRIEFER DAY. What that means exactly is yet to be figured out! But we're going to allow all kinds of... interesting rule-breaking behavior on the 13th, so stay tuned for more info! Should be fun.

The LEA Sandbox Admin team consists of Sasun Steinbeck, Dekka Raymaker, Solo Mornington, and PatriciaAnne Daviau. We have been working hard to pull this together for you, the artists of SL and I'm so happy to finally be opening this friday, May 20 2011.
