Changing peoples ideas through violence never worked. Straight Edge was suppose to be about rebelling with a clear mind and not leaning on crutches all your life when times get hard. The music was your outlet. You moshed, people had bruises, but it was not malicious. Beating up people who are different is what the government does and the cause of rebellion. The violence is counter productive. The entire thought process is counter productive.
