What is it?
Foam rolling is part of SMR or self-myofascial release. While stretching improves the length of the muscle, foam rolling helps improve the tone. It helps eliminate scar-tissue and soft-tissue adhesion, which from my experience training people involves everyone. It improves the mobility and range of motion.

Summary of Exercises
Spine
Lower-Back
Mid-Back
Quads
It Band
Adductors

Hold each position for at least fifteen seconds. Perform foam rolling either pre or post workout as many days as possible. Trust me your body will thank me later.

This video is designed to explain how to properly use a foam roller to help improve the length and the tone of your muscles. This will help increase gym performance, prevent injury and attract a lot of attention.

  • Your beyond awesome ! I gotta ask, how long should these exercises take including the 5 min warmup?

  • The first time you run it through about 15 minutes, every other time however it'll take you about ten minutes MAX

  • Thanks for the video. ok so where can you get a "good" foam roller? When do you roll (before workout, after workout, on off days)?

  • @yyportne Great question. As to where to buy one, I buy mine locally, just make sure its PRO EVA grade. You can foam roll ANYTIME, pre-work out being best for most since they are tight!

  • really enjoyed the video as I just got a foam roller. Do you have to warm up like you do before you stretch or can you do it cold like straight out of bed in the morning? Thanks!

  • You can do it right out of bed and I'd recommend it before stretching.

  • Lol, sum great entertaining moments! (congratulations. Ur tight!) but i have to echo... yeah, ur bordering annoying in a few bits as well... :D Great info though dude! Thanks! Do ur thing! Lol

  • Btw, I read on Stronglifts, that you should not roll your: Neck and lower back - those areas are not for rolling. Mid back and upper back is ok as there is a lot of muscle, but on lower back are, there no big muscles, so you basically roll the bones - not good.

    But, great video!

  • I made mine from PVC pipe and attached yoga mat onto it using duck tape.

    WORKS!

  • home boy's top is just lil bit to small,

  • Great video, informative and pretty funny at the same time. There's a fine line between funny and annoying but I enjoyed this! Good job man!
