Michael Koby's presentation at the Houston Open Dev User Group on December 1st, 2011.
With MonoTouch, you can leverage your existing .NET C# skill set to create functional iPhone applications that you can also sell in the iPhone App Store. During this presentation, Michael will be giving an overview of MonoTouch, a brief introduction to Mono, the framework that MonoTouch is built on, and will even rebuild the Twitter search application that be built last month using C# and MonoTouch.
@getsmartpaul I think you'll need a Mac only when you need to deploy the app on the device, if I remember correctly...

@adamphillips2000 you can always buy the Mac mini, which is like $599. I've been seen more and more .NET developers buying a mac, and running Windows on it either as dual-boot, or as a virtual machine.
I got my Mac about 5 months ago and have adopted it as my main dev machine.

Huh, haven't had a chance to listen to the whole lecture.
So how far can you go without buying a MAC ?
Thanks, LA Guy

.NET development...but still require a mac. Are there actually many .NET developers that own a mac? I got excited when I first came across MonoTouch until I realised I'd still need to spend a grand on another machine to do anything :-(
