This award-winning comedy raises questions about art and friendship. The long-standing relationship of Serge, Marc and Yvan is thrown into crisis when Serge, indulging his penchant for modern art, buy a large, expensive, completely white painting. Marc is horrified -- but is is the painting itself that offends him or his friend's sudden independence of thought? Yvan, caught in the middle of the conflict, tries to mollify both men only to have his vacillation ignite a blazing row. In the end, the testing of the friendship serves to affirm the bond of the three men.
