@natort08 aww I'm so happy for you :D. I haven't gotten my braces yet, i just turned 19 two weeks ago so i know my teeth are mature now. I can't wait till i get my braces and start the process. I chin jaw looks just like yours did before the procedure. Wish me luck.

I'm no professional but I know there are alternate ways to correct an underbite without having to rely on surgery. It's something you should definitely discuss with your orthodontist.

@f1yh1nger
I went on daily walks and that seemed to help my swelling go down rather quickly.

Im 21, too and have had an underbite my whole life- it runs in my family, weird lol. But I plan to have this same surgery as soon as I can afford it so I was wondering if you had to kind of re-teach yourself how to do certain things like talk, eat, kiss? Or does it just come natural?

Those things just come natural. I remember when I was unwired shut I could definitely notice the change in my bite and it felt "new and different" but it wasn't hard getting used to it. You won't even think about it.
