@meetthefocker2 He either worked around it or smoked cigarettes that had a filter in them in the late 1950s with asbestos in the filter. Kent was the cigarette and it had something in it called a Micronite filter. My parents smoked cigarettes for years. But they both quit before my oldest nephew James was born in 1995.

@Sheri451 Steve Mcqueen died of it.

@meetthefocker2 You're right. They have a commercial on TV about asbestos related cancer called Mesothelioma, You can sue the places you worked at.

@Sheri451 Yes it is awful. We never had anything as bad as that happen in all the years of IRA terrorism we suffered. My father went to New York in the early 70's when they were building the world trade towers, he remembers seeing them being built. The awful thing about asbetos is that it takes years to develop into the illness and meanwhile you don't know whether your going to suffer it or not.

@meetthefocker2 I never will forget that, I live in North Carolina, that's in the South east. But I still had nightmares about it, especially after they showed a special about the firemen that were in the buildings. I dreamed I was in the World Trade Center trying to save people. They say the people that were there digging for survivors are susceptible to cancer from breathing in all the asbestos the buildings had.The poor citizens were covered in the poison for days

@Sheri451 Yeah the war was a tough time. My Nan lived in London during the blitz and my father was actually born in the middle of a bombing raid! Still you had it pretty bad too. I was just watching a program about the 9/11 attacks. Gosh it makes my blood run cold!

Gerda Nicholson was such a wonderful actress. I don't think Erica Davidson would had discussed breast cancer with Meg.OMG! It's that crazy screw! LOL! I just saw the actress that plays Cass on episode 174 she was a lawyer that was representing Doreen's ex hubby Kevin. Pixie, That was my absolute favorite person. I like Bobbie too.NO MINNIE! Don't go with him!

@meetthefocker2 Yes. I understand why your country doesn't like violence. I watched a sad movie today called Journey For Margaret. It was about two children who were orphaned by the Blitz in WWII. The Germans tried to destroy England. There was an article in this mornings paper about a man that was in the Blitz he was only 7 years old, he said he wasn't angry at the Germans but all the adults were. I hate violence too. But my Grandfather loves watching violent movies, so does my parents.

Gerda was a very "natural" actress - you could believe her scenes are real life scenarios. As much as I loved Patsy I wonder weather she would be as believable in these story lines. I couldn't imagine Queen erica lolling around in her dressing gown discussing a bad night of sex
