In this lecture I discuss the applications of multiple integrals in an applied mathematics and engineering context. I discuss how to calculate the mass, moments and centre of mass of 2-dimensional thin plates. I also briefly glimpse at applications of triple integrals.

This is lecture no.1 of MATH2111 "Higher Several Variable Caluclus", which is a 2nd-year subject taught at UNSW, Sydney. The course also features vector calculus.

  • Interesting video. thanks

  • Very clear interpretation and discussion of the lesson.

  • legend!!

  • @lakshaynjohny dA = r dr dθ is the area element in polar coordinates;

    in spherical coordinates the area element becomes dV= r^2 sinφ dr dφ dθ

  • @aakksshhaayy yeah it's been panned to the right side for some reason :S
