Dangerous Bruckner exit gets makeover

(12/27/11) THE BRONX - A dangerous Bruckner Expressway exit that leads into Country Club will get a safety makeover thanks to a local lawmaker.

Residents of County Club say exit 7C has long been a problem and, according to state Sen. Jeff Klein (D-The Bronx), dozens of accidents have happened during the past five years as drivers tried to exit the highway and merge onto the service road.

Klein is now working with the state and city Departments of Transportation to make the exit safer by improving speed limit signs, trimming bushes to open sight lines and adding markings to make it clear that cars on the service road have the right of way.
