1989年に「ヤングアニマル」で連載がスタートして以来、20年以上にわたって国内外で絶大な支持を集める三浦建太郎の大人気漫画「ベルセルク」を映画化したダーク・フ­ァンタジー。ファンの間で高い人気を誇るエピソード「黄金時代」をベースに、巨大な剣を自在に操る剣士ガッツが壮絶な運命を切り開いていくさまを描く。監督は、テレビアニ­メ「トップをねらえ！」のキャラクターデザインを務めた窪岡俊之。アニメ制作には『鉄コン筋クリート』などで知られるSTUDIO4℃があたり、原作の重厚かつ壮大な世界­観を見事に映像化した。

You guys need to stop complaining about the art and cg. They are going half and half on certain scenes, it's actually very difficult to implement 2D with 3D in the same frame. The CG also worried the Japanese audience, and whoever saw it in Japan actually said that it worked out real well... Always remember that the Manga is the true version, so if your disappointed with this movie, manga is always here to stay. Movie is just a plus for us fans.

@shinsama3333 3D animation is just so lazy in comparison to 2D but i do appreciate the fact that it lessens the workload for the animators as drawing can be extremely tiring
