I love Alton Brown. He is by far my favorite Food Network personality. My Mom doesn't like him much because she thinks he's silly. I think his shows are both entertaining and very informative. Rock on Alton.

I use my rice cooker to steam veggies, actually (usually frozen), so for me it's not a unitasker. It works surprisingly well, although I recommend anyone trying it to be very careful, as it's not the purpose the machine was made for.

@MalkavianHand : Silly's not just good, silly's entertaining and thought-provoking, atleast to a degree. Which in this case adds up to a more receptive audience (if you've got the right audience, ofcourse), and a more educational experience.

A.B. keeps things light and fast, but if you watch the show, the pace is slightly intense, which helps draw viewers back into the show. 'Good Eats' is a show you do have to pay attention to, without going too overboard.

He achieves a nice balance.
