CLARA BOW: first portrait (Photo Restoration & Colorization)

Clara Bow, the "It" girl, was a terrified 16-year-old (as she claimed, though it turned out she was actually 14) when she won the acting contest that was to begin her film career. Too poor to buy clothing, she showed up in the only thing she had: a plain wool dress, a sweater, and a wooly red "tam" (short for tam-o'-shanter, which is a large round hat with a pom pom in the center). Sneered at by the other contestants, who were expensively dressed and groomed and greedy for stardom, Clara shrunk into the crowd as the judges for the contest came out and glanced over the line of eager faces. Out of the blue, one man said "That's an interesting face - that kid with the red tam and the gorgeous eyes." It was Clara! After a few rocky beginnings, Clara was on her way to becoming one of the most memorable movie legends of all time.

*Clara's natural hair color was distinctly red, though she used henna in her hair later on when she became a star (possibly in combination with another product like Indigo to darken the hair). Her eyes were a unique dark brown color, which Clara herself described as nearly being black.

This is terrific! She truly was a pretty girl. I don't know why the 20's look had to include those horrid, exaggerated eyebrows ~ it actually detracted from her beauty. Great post!

Hello~ her dreamy eyes are actually from her having SANPAKU ~ = 3 SIDES OF WHITE NOT TWO LIKE THE REST OF us. It means you are out of extreme balance and on the death path from illness, or attracting accidents or suicide which was poor sweet amazing and lovely Clara's choice. see bk :You Are All Sanpaku" for more info and to reverse see an acup . immed. & possibly a macrobiotic counselor for lifestyle and cooking redirection!
