This is my daughter riding our horse Lillia, a 16.2 Chestnut Gelderland mare. We found out she had a gum disease and i wouldnt ride her until i could find something that would not hut her. Along came the Dr. Cook's bitless bridle. Using a Dr Cook bitless bridle, works just as well as using a bridle with a bit...if not better, at least we know our horse is not in pain from metal bits in her mouth!!

  • merseylassy, thanks she is going great bitless. Glad you made the change, people really need to know that bitless is ok, that you can still control your horse etc. So many people say to me "oh i couldn't manage without a bit" but their not willing to try it. So good on you hun, tell others about it. Horses don't need to have metal in their mouths anymore!!

  • hi , well done on going bitless. she looks great and very happy. I too went bitless summer of 2009, my horse is 8yr old and always ridden bitted. After much reserch and soul searching we went bitless, and my horse has never gone or felt better, i hope never to go back to metal in his mouth.
