Saratoga Opening Day 2010 - Bank Merger

5 years on, another Bank Merger
I was in Albany when a high school friend who loves the horses invited me up to Saratoga for opening day. My first time on a track so he walked me through making a bet at the window then he carefully walked me through the hi-tech use of a betting machine -- like an ATM he said. When he was done I said wait! I saw another horse I have to bet on. So I placed my last dollar on a seven to one shot in the third race -- Bank Merger. I've been on both sides of many a bank merger; I was due. We stood outside in the pouring rain as the ponies kicked up the mud. We laughed as Bank Merger started in last place but we watched Bank Merger come from behind to win. I won $3.50 on my $1 bet to place which almost covered my days total wagers of $4. Another nearly successful bank merger!
