This song is a very happy song.

On this date in 1963 {Feb. 16th} "South Street" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at No. 3 and spent 13 weeks in the Top 100
Ranked 47th on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1963 chart
Was the last of three straight records by the Orlons to make Billboard's Top 10; started with "The Wah Watusi" {#2}, then "Don't Hung Up {#4}, and finally "South Street {#3}...

do you who played sax on the Orlons tunes. also have a suggestion(don't know if would work)
have someone who has conections set up a web sight just to answer questions about songs, musicians, groups etc. and maybe one for those of us who would love to have an autograph of someone in a video before they all pass away. iof the person doesn't want their life inturepted that way. ok but might be worth thinking about.

My favorite Orlons' recording. I turned 16 in the Spring of 1963 and just loved their music. Sadly, this genre of music was sent packing by the Fall of the same year when the Beatles, Stones and DC5 landed on the shores of America. Thanks Ron, for all the great music you post that always takes me back to my musical roots.
