  • QUESTION: should I dive off of one foot in a running stance like this guy, or should I plant both feet like a wall-spin and THEN dive?

  • It depends. Typically planting both feet will make blocking easier, and it will therefore be easier to vault taller objects, but you won't go very far. If you are going for distance then do the one foot takeoff since you are going for a longer vault rather than a high one so blocking isn't quite as essential.

  • hmmm. Good tutorial! The only things I can really say about it though:

    - you can also do kongs jumping from both feet (Better for high kongs)

    - You said that you mainly want to get forward momentum from your kong, but many times this is not the case. Often, traceurs have enough forward momentum, but just want to continue it over the obstacle, and get their HEIGHT from the vault. Especially if you're doing a kong over a 5 foot ledge :P

  • Good points. I guess this tutorial only applies whilst one is doing a Kong to go over a long obstacle. I've been looking to revise this video for just this reason.

  • you need little bit normal tekst the rest was good ima try it now got other tutorials?

  • Yup, and more on the way!

  • Good tutorial

  • You nailed it, man! Thanks for the inspiration. Good analysis too, it really helped me. Not saying I won't dive head first once or thrice... best set up on grass. Check out my vid, too! Any tips?

  • QUESTION: I want to know a easy way of getting my hips up higher. Will someone please answer me?): Im begging you)= ....Thanks a bunch

  • good tutorial --- just u should probably kong the longer side of the bench not the shorter side, cause most people who watch this can easily jump the short side of it. and when u kong longer objects u get more of the technique down.

  • cabron, esta en ingles

  • as Luim12 said, get your hips high, that's the key to not bashing your shins in :P...you should try to get it level with your head as he did in the vid and cos of your forward momentum if you lock your arms and tuck your legs you would kong over it easily despite looking like a plank of wood :P

  • that's one thing he missed out :P

  • i did the same to my head practising to roll on concrete

  • same for me... what a shame...

  • No doubt. I 'dented' my shin really really bad just doing a monkey because I hesitated.

  • and get your hips high also,

  • yeah u might need to go faster also, read other tutorials that help you get over the fear of clipping your feet, you should be able to bring your knees to your chest fairly quickly and push off your hands to prevent your feet hitting the other side of the object :D
