A dragonfly at my feet

I'd been watching this beautiful creature for several days trying to get a decent photograph of it without success. Then one day it came and landed at my feet and... I think... began laying eggs. At least that is what it seemed to be doing. So I turned my camera to the video setting and here it is. I'm not certain what type of dragonfly it is. Possibly an emperor dragonfly. If you know better, let me know.
