What does Allen and Sotomeyor's comments have to do with each other? Because of the obscurity of the word Macaca it is difficult to tell exactly what Allan meant.

Sotomayor was in line with mainstream thought when she ruled in the Connecitut firefighter case. Further, in the speech often cited she is clearly not a racist.

Sotomayor makes it clear she will advocate liberal causes, rather than follow past precedent and the rule of law, in how she rules. The "wise latina woman" will make a better ruling than a white male comment is not even the most contemptuous thing she's said of the rule of law. She joked with sarcasm about the notion of not advocating liberal causes. A disgrace she's on the court.
