  • @Madhatter1903 That song would be "The Old Oaken Bucket," first written as a poem in 1818 by Samuel Woodworth. In the 1870's, they were set to music.

  • This looks very much like a 1929 entry - thoughts transcripted onscreen seem to have inherited from the silent period.

    Note how the father looks like Disney's Pete from "Gallopin Gaucho" and "Steamboat Willie". Even the animation for his laugh has been borrowed from Disney!

  • @vmpickle123 This short probably was in production in 1929, but wasn't released until the date I mentioned (according to the Walter Lantz Cartune Encyclopedia).
