Micro-Trains Z scale GP35 going back and forth, ready for switching duties. The loco is slowing down just prior to getting on the turnout because I found it far too fast and I throttled it down...

  • Nice smooth running locomotive there. I just got into Z scale and have the Micro Trains GP-9. I am 100% impressed at how well these little trains run. And compared to many of the HO and N locos on the market today, the price is comparable. My next engine is the GP-35.

  • That's why I trust in Z scale! Please stay tuned, Micro-Trains will release an EMD SD40-2 next winter.

But one has to be aware that such an awesome low speed performance is possible provided you are using a proper powerpack. In my opinion the best are from Passmann or Zthek.

  • how much is hs the micro trainz set cost becuase i ahve a 200 dollar fo scale am trakc set.

  • The sets are between $230 (with a F7 loco) and $290 (with a GP9 or 35). They include a loco and 5 cars, as well as a complete track loop. Power pack not included. These prices are Micro-Trains recommended, but you can find them at a ~20 - 30% cheaper price at various locations. Please contact me off line if you want some addresses.

  • Infortunately no factory dcc equipped Z scale motive power for the moment. But depending on the area where you're living, I may redirect you to crafstmen that would be able to dcc'ing your unit....

  • That's worth it then, I should be getting the sante fe kind of f7. Do you know if I could get a micro trains f7 with dcc?

  • You may count $150; $100 for a F7 ($150 for a GP35), and $50 for the MTL track loop. If you want to add turnouts, a MTL turnout is about $30.

  • Do you have any idea of how much a oval of Z scale track and a sante fe f7 would cost?

  • No problem: Z scale is getting cheaper and cheaper: the GP35 locomotive is about $170 when purchased brand new. The turnout is about $30 and the sectional track segments are sold 12 samples in a $30 pack. You may elect to purchase flestrack: 10 samples, 12 inches each, cost $50 - 60 (all USD).

  • OMG!:O....6.5 mm?...that can be called a micro-track :D...oh,can i ask you how much did this cost you?
