There is no question that Duane is one of the best rock guitarist ever, but Dicky Betts is also a great guitarist it was he who arranged the dual guitar parts. A performance like this is not one guy being backed up by a bunch of guys but a fusion of different personalities the rhythm section is so good that most non musicians can't hear it because it makes the solo's sound so good.

Dickey's arrangement of course. Composed in an Macon cemetery named after a tombstone.

Saw Duane in Georgia a few times before he passed. - the thing about this arrangement like most early Allman Brothers compositions- not one wasted note- every thing builds

this was the first time i ever heard the Allman Brothers. They left a lifelong impression on me. Some of the best music I will ever hear. I am now 56 years old.

I'm with you. That 2 drummer thing was taken on by Miles Davis on Bitches Brew in "70.Took Dickey, Duane and the whole band for a cosmic ride Saw The Dead in " Hot Lanta" bout 72. They had The Brew goin' on the wall of sound between sets. .

With the help of 2 bad ass drummers a bitchin' bass man and a chuggin' bro probably in the top 5 of whites blues with Steve Winwood, Eric Burdon, Gerry Brooker and Joe Cocker.

My first band practiced this song everyday for months in the garage! Not just to get it tight but because we loved it!!!! Saw them live about 1 year after Duane's Motorcycle wreck. Gregg never lifted his head up off the keys all night. Sure they were in shock and probably loaded to the gills. Well so was I so they sounded just great to me Rip Duane!
