That is a good point. I think that is why scientists are now trying to decipher the "proteome" and using Northern or Western blotting techniques more to see not just what is encoded in the blueprint, but to see the current status at the time of diagnosis.

Genome is like a blue-print of a house construction. House is built on a blue-print (baby), but the house changes as time goes (adolescent and adults). Now if you treat a person based on a blue-print (genome), you simply ignore all of those changes that have occurred to a person.

Genome based medicine is extremely dangerous if a physician ignores the fact that genome only tells you 'original status', not 'present status'.
