The Musée de Monoian was established in New York City's East Village in October 2004 by the twin team Barbara and Elizabeth Monoian.Announced by Toni Schlesinger in November 2004 in her Village Voice "Shelter" Column, the name Musée de Barb and Beth was coined. Musée de Monoian seemed more appropriate to the mission- The Museum of One
Being. An apartment turned museum showcasing over 300 artists.
The Musée de Monoian is an all-embracing Arts foundation committed to
