The JB was my first introduction to the music scene in York. Quite a different place for a middle aged middle class chap from the quiet avenues of a Wetherby estate. It soon became my favorite watering hole and music venue. Played banjo on many occasions in the JB with 'Beyond The Pale' and when we meet, as we do occasionally, we still talk about the best pub in York.
