I just posted a video of him demonstrating how he walks Zoe: Korean Jindo dog Caleb taking Zoe (Bichon-poo) For A Walk. The yard is open on two sides and she'll run off if she sees a neighbor. So, when it rains, we send him out to take her potty.

Thank you. It's extremely hard for them to change owners (they'll literally travel hundreds of miles searching for the old owner), so you have to be prepared to keep your Jindo forever. Caleb hadn't bonded with anyone when we got him as a rescue (he'd been neglected and abused), so we were the first humans he socialized with. He bonded with me so quickly that he medically alerted me the 1st week--holding me down with his paws when he knew I was about to seize. He's my amazing a gift from God!

He's the best! But, again, the smarter your dog is, the more time you have to spend with them. And the more challenges you have to provide for them, or they get bored and invent all kinds of trouble! If you're not home much, then get a dog with a normal IQ--you'll both be happier.

You have to spend a LOT of time with your dogs & WALK THEM daily if you want them to enjoy obeying you. Especially if you have a smart dog--they don't do well without challenges.

To get a dog to walk another one, I walked Caleb to show him the boundaries of our property for several days. Then I watched him for a couple of weeks whenever I let him out to "do his business" (saying "no" when he was about to cross boundaries). It was months of him not running away before I trusted him to walk Zoe on their own. I attached her leash to his collar & told him to take her to "do her business." He walked her around until she went potty & then brought her back.

You have to spend a LOT of time withyour dogs and be the Alpha Dog. I'm a Dog Whisperer junkie because that's why our dogs want to obey us. You HAVE to be consistent--no changing the rules. And pay attention to your words. My husband kept saying "Down" to get Caleb off the bed and got irritated that he didn't budge. I said, "Honey, you said 'Down' and he thinks that means to lie down. Use a different word like 'off' or something because right now he IS obeying."
