Paul and Heather // One Day

I made this video for two reasons -- one, because I haven't made anything Paul-related in way too long and he needs the support. And two, because I wanted to pay some sort of tribute to Vail Bloom, since she was one of my favorite actresses on the show and I can't just go forgetting her because she's not on anymore! So, there you have it!

I have no desire to get into any kind of discussion over the "real" Heather. I know Eden Riegel is not in this, but that is due in large part to the fact that I don't have the clips. And since I enjoyed Vail so much and I wanted to give Doug a shout-out, I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone here and just showcase the relationship between the two of them. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts, opinions, feelings and I have no qualms about anybody liking Vail better or Eden better - whatever anybody thinks is fine by me! I'm sure Eden is a lot of fun to work with; her new son, Jack is so handsome.

But anyway -- didn't come to talk about fan sides! Came to talk about how much I MISS seeing Vail Bloom! She made an awesome Heather; independent, wise, witty, smart...but underneath it all, she craved having a family and having Paul was so important to her, even when they clashed. They have changed the character so much with the recast, and I miss the way they used to write for Heather. I miss the Heather that didn't take any crap, the Heather that fell into Paul when she needed him, the Heather with the long, luxurious hair! (Okay, maybe that last one is a superficial comment, but just the same!)

Also...Doug and Paul as a character desperately need some loving. He has been on so little this year and I don't know what's going to happen to him. Doug is one of the nicest people I have ever had the good fortune to meet. This show needs him and Doug deserves his due. Please lend him your support; he's a generous soul.

Awww that was beautiful. Now I'm missing Vail soooo much more. :( She was soooo fabulous & amazing for all the reasons you covered. Doug/Vail had terrific father/daughter chemistry too. This was sooo sweet.

Great job, I love the father-daughter relationship Y&R had over the years with the characters, Brad&Colleen, Brad & Abby, Lily & Neil to name a few. Vail Bloom was beautiful & perfect as Paul's daughter. No offence to Eden Riegal, she is a good actress but just isn't Heather to me.
