Steel gears are from RC4wd http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_info.php?products_id=398 ...break-in of the all steel gears for my project MRC Thunderking. I ran it on the bench for a half hour forward, and then a half hour backwards. The tight mesh did loosen up a bit. Check-out the complete restoration project at http://electricmonster.webs.com/apps/forums/topics/show/3002405-mrc-thunderki... ~Combat Chuck

  • @martinrc1996 A 1991 MRC Thunderking.

  • whitch car is this for ?

  • @nts213 For this truck yes. It is too big & heavy with too much power for the plastic gears. I had a nitro version, a few years ago and the plastic gears was the first weak link to break. ~Combat Chuck

  • Is metal gears better then plastic im searching for metal gears for my truck.

  • @callog1 I don't know. I always break in my new stuff on my bench before racing it. This did free up the gear box quite a bit though. Is it breaking in the steel, or is the bearings & grease moving out of the way. I don't know??? ~Combat Chuck

  • Wow! I never even thought about breaking in steal gears. What does that realy do beside loosening the mesh?
