Father Bill Morton, a Columban missionary who was deported from Mexico for his advocacy work on behalf of the colonos of Lomas del Poleo, Ciudad Juárez shares his testimony at a UT El Paso forum on November 21, 2007. For more info www.pasodelsur.com.
@britainmal "rich" mexico is indeed very stuck on the old ways..like how it was right after the inquisition. A very sad view on the poor, no help is given and this cultural norm is partly why the country is in such turmoil. I am all about the rights of the indigenous people,...I don't know much about the economic backlash a boycott would further impede on them, but I'm all for change in that nation.

I'm only sorry I'm not in a position anymore to take this testimony to the catholic schools in Texas where it belongs. I'm glad to see Fr. Bill and others speaking out and risking for the sake of human rights.

The hired thugs that patrol the place are protected by that rich family and their politician friends. My heart goes out to those residents standing up, facing the intimidation and enduring in their plot.
