Question - why can't you just walk 3 miles without organizing an entire event - you really won't see a health improvement if you walk every other weekend or even less than that - just walk a mile or two every day and you'll start feeling better - make sure you do some aerobics before and after walking of course - the guy who suggested cycling was also correct

Three 5k walks burn about 750 calories in total, which is about what you would burn in ONE HOUR of bicycling at a decent pace (covering 12 to 15 miles.) You should take up cycling, Kige. Plus, if you ride to class, it will save you more gas than the "never let the tank get less than half full" strategy.
