It's true, I've bought one and the secondary gas burning is amazing. I use (as recommended) small 2Kg loads of good dry wood, and I split it smaller than with my old stove. The heat thrown forward (ours in in a large inglenook) is huge and the 140Kg stove stays hot for hours after the flames have died down.
The guy in the video either have asbestos hands or has just lit it as the whole stove gets very hot after 30 mins, Scan supply an insulated glove with the stove for operating those controls.
