We're Not Meant To Be- Chp 4 part 2

[back in sallie's room with her and joe]

sallie: wow joe...
joe: what??
sallie: [points to rene's number on his hand]
joe: what?! she's hot!
sallie: ugh whatever. just don't scare away my friends.
joe: im instulted! who would be scared by this amazing face??!
sallie: [laughing] wow joe... you know im just kidding, right?
joe: I know
sallie: no one can mess with you and your vain self...
joe: HEY!!
sallie: just kidding! again!
joe: whatever sal!!
sallie: [laughing and then getting kinda serious] you know I really did miss you joe.
joe: well ya- I missed you too, sal.
sallie: what im trying to say is that I missed all of you guys... a lot- like you can't even imagine. when you guys first moved to LA I was crushed, but I never let anyone know. I let all of my sadness and anger out through my music and dance, but that was never enough. it felt like something was just ripped out of my heart. I know it was my decision to stay in new york and live out my broadway dreams, but ever since the day you guys boarded that plane to California, I knew I had made the wrong decision.
joe: [kind of caught off guard] oh... umm... then why didn't come live in california with us? why would you stay somewhere that didn't make you happy?
sallie: that's just it- new york did make me happy. being on that stage every night made me feel complete, but there was always that something missing. that sense of feeling unloved, and that your family doesn't care about you...
joe: oh my gosh sallie, I never knew you felt that way- I don't think any of us knew! you know that we love you, and would do anything for you, right?!
sallie: ya I knew that you guys would do anything for me, but I didn't want to ruin things for your career by telling you that I wanted you to move back to the east coast. I just couldn't do that to you. all of you had worked too hard for that. I just thought that if I waited it out, it would all get better. but it never did. the sense of missing you guys were always too much for me to handle. so one night at a party I had a few drinks and felt amazing. that sense of missing something was gone- I felt whole again.
joe: so that's what fueled your drinking and partying? us leaving you??
sallie: well... I guess in a sense... yes. im not blaming it on you guys, I mean it was totally my fault for doing that. but then it just got to be too many parties and too much drinking. my body just shut down. I knew something had to be changed, so I pulled a stunt that I knew would get me kicked out of my new york boarding school. I thought that if I distanced myself from you it would be easier to [starting to choke up] easier to... forget. [regaining control of not crying] so I begged mom and dad to let me go London for school. they agreed and I started my process of forgetting. forgetting my past of a perfect family, loving life, and starring on broadway. the only thing I didn't forget was how to drink and party. as I got older the parties became bigger. soon my "perfect family" was just a fragment of my imagination. I stopped sending e-mails, returning phone calls, answering text messages. [getting choked up again] I just wanted to forget everything... [broke down crying]
joe: [holding her while she is crying] its okay sallie... none of us had any clue you felt this way. we would've done anything for you- we still would do anything for you, sal. do you understand- we love you
sallie: [nods her head yes and whispers] now I do...

BAM. sallie's story. well... most of it. question time: [part 1] what do you think of rene? do you think joe will start hanging out with her a lot?? do still think that kevin will find out about sallie "borrowing" his car??? [part 2] is joe going to tell anone about sallie's "story"? will sallie change as a person since she now told joe what she had been holding in for so long????
