can i add a mp3 file in it?
-
@Agentbromsnor And Yes, Audacity can do this.
-
@Agentbromsnor Actually, multitracking is the art of recording multiple tracks SEPERATELY. Not at the same time, you PLAY all of the tracks together at the same time, but not record.

i have a problem with audacity and it really bothers the multitrack thingy...when i record the first track and listen back to it..its fine alone..but when its playing back while im recording the next track,it starts to have glitches and the outcomes of the mix is terribly a mess...what the hell is wrong?..x(

@Agentbromsnor yes you can multitrack with Audacity

That was a simple and informative tutorial. Thank you for posting, I was looking to see if Audacity would do this and add reverbs as well.

Does anyone know how to do the hardcore stuff that can be done with CoolEditPro aka Adobe Audition? I need to be able to automatically repeat tracks on a channel, envelope the volume and channel bias, etc. with minimum 8-10 tracks?
If you do, please post youtube links like watch?v=..... Thanks a lot.

That sounded good man, and thank you for the help with understanding how to use this program..

question dude when i do my first track of recording its perfect of volume and sound is good but when i record my SECOND track its volume is MUCH quieter.
So my first is normal of volume and the other not why is that?

where can i find the full software of audacity?((message me please)ty
This has absolutely nothing to do with multitracking. Multitracking is when you record multiple inputs at once, which cannot be done in Audacity it seems.

@Agentbromsnor Well, you can look up the definition of multitracking if you wish and I am sure Les Paul and the Beatles would disagree with you as well. While multiple inputs is one way of multitracking, the tracks do not have to be put down the same time. Thanks for the comment.

Great tutorial, thank you! Just downloaded the Beta version of Audacity, 1.3.13, as the program crashed every time I tried to record on Windows 7. They have redesigned the Preferences page, and I can't find "Play other tracks while recording a new one." I assume that's what enables you to hear the first one while recording the second one. Any ideas? Thanks.

@monelleny Yeah I haven't really messed with the newer versions. If I get a chance I'll check it out.

@hto1971 Thanks for the compliment... To my knowledge, some vst plugins work and some don't... I'm sure there is a website with a list of what works and doesn't but I don't have it in front of me at the moment..
