The Well-Tempered Horn is a collection from 1988 of preludes and fugues written in all keys for horn and piano. Written by Wally Kleucker for Malinda Finch Kleucker, who, at the time it was composed, was principal horn of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Star Spangled Fugue uses the opening theme from "Star Spangled Banner" as the subject of the fugue. Interwoven in the fugue as countersubjects are George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and "We Shall Overcome."
