Pete thanks for this video I have the exact system planned to be put into my beetle. One thing i was wondering is do you ever hear of issues with the water coming down the windows opening and interfering with the solenoid?

@djeraser Never had that problem arise.. It really all depends on how your latch is set up.. Some of them you have to mount sidways, instead of up and down..

do believe your vise grips were providing some unintended tension on the cable when you 'tested' it and when you removed the pliers the cable was sloppy. shit happens I get that crap sometimes when I try to custom fit a control cable. grumble grumble and I ain't got me a doggie to make me feel better.
