With the CN Iowa Division still with drifts in its sidings and some that redeveloped onto the mainline, the railroad got out the big guns! The once-in-a-lifetime used Jordan Ditcher. The Ditcher/Flanger/Spreader is based out of Omaha, NE. It is true that the last time some people saw it was after the 1979 storm.

Here, it is pushing and plowing snow out of the sidings at Lena, IL. Whilst the Jordan Ditcher is plowing out the main, it backs down to go into the siding to wait to be passed by a wing plow headed back to Waterloo, IA after coming through the night after the storm.

  • I agree with Geoff, I saw this plow sitting on a stub end track at Waterloo on the 9th of Jan. I would say it's based out of there.
