This tutorial covers the basic PhotoWorks rendering workflow, including scene settings, lighting, cameras, and material assignment. Note that Indirect Illumination is covered in subsequent tutorials. Please also note that the PhotoWorks system has been replaced in SolidWorks 2011, so this tutorial only applies to SolidWorks 2010 and earlier. Part 1 of 2.

This is one of a series of tutorial videos that I recorded for a SolidWorks course that I taught several years ago. The course used SolidWorks 2006 and 2007, and focused on using the software for industrial design. Although these tutorials were created to supplement specific aspects of my course and show old versions of the software, they still contain good basic techniques and many people requested have that I continue to make them available.
