I own an F-5 - its a wonderful camera. I originally started with the f2 (my personal favorite) but this f-5 is very well built, feels amazing in the hands. Decent battery life ( get rechargeables ) and takes amazing pictures. smashing pumpkins video was filmed using a nikon f5. its fast.

@Danked04 with Ni-mh batteries the camera can reach the 7.6 fps. I don't think there's much difference between 8 and 7.4-7.6 fps, don't you agree?

it only does 8fps with the nikon battery... which goes for about $400 + charger. That was 7.4 or something...

how the hell did the F series cameras(film cameras) manage that speed? forwarding film itself must take a while!

This is a beast. This maybe focuses faster with AF/AF-D than with AF-S :)
I will buy it as a fullframe body in future.
