You've left Linux out of the equation. I have a Dell Inspiron 1545--not exactly a top-notch, high-end laptop. I have two operating systems: Ubuntu Linux and Windows 7. I once timed Windows taking 4.5 minutes from the bootloader to web browsing. Ubuntu (a popular flavor of Linux), on the other hand, took 28 seconds. Maybe you should try this race again but install a Linux distribution on the PC. And Ubuntu doesn't cost a dime. It's free.

You can't just say PC without telling us specs and with out telling us the year.
Besides the term PC is to broad all Computers are PCs. You would say windows based PC or Linux based PC or Mac OSX based PC. Good video just work on being less bias during boot races.
