  • A good movie. There was a time when movies where smart , unpredictable, original, interesting - everything you'd expect from a movie. It seems that nowadays these things are hard to find in a movie. Not that I'm pessimistic or old-fashioned, but the advent of modern technology has brought about dazzling graphics, amazing 3D effects, but poor subjects, always the same, always predictable. Simplicity, originality and wit seem to have gone together with that era.

  • Fritz Lang KICKS ASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

this and scarlet street and back to back awsome

  • @keiraa11 You're not being pessimistic--its the truth--now films are about teenage actors, CGI, blow ups, and crashes--really all made for 18 year old boys. Class, good acting, 'wit' and suspense are all out the window. Either H'wood has lowered it sites--or the public has---I think the latter---'give the public what it wants!" Sad but true!

  • The guy who played the English guy on the couch with glasses played 'Stinky' --Watson's friend--in Dressed to Kill (Sherlock Holmes). Fine character actor--looks like he's having a good time!!! Very watchable. R. Massey, by the way, was part of a very distinguised Canadian family--I believe his Grandfather was a Prime Minister. Guys, don't you wish clubs like these still existed---brandy, good cigars, wood work? Now its "Olive Garden" for goodness sake!

  • @cleopatrabonz I have to agree with you. The current movie situation is so pathetic. Apparently, H'wood thinks the current movie going public suckers for any CGI and teenage acting skills--Well, I guess they are RIGHT! :(

  • Top rate film noir--with a marvelous twist ending--don't anybody be a spoiler here!! Robinson was certainly not your 'typical' leading man (ie good looks, tall)--but he had something far rarer--great actor and inner perception of his characters...plus the distinctive voice. Always watchable.

  • @keiraa11 / Yes, the new movies are meant to dazzle you so you can't focus on the lack of a good screenplay good actors and actresses..its pitiful but when you think about it. This was a new medium and imagine all the ideas the screen writers, directors had back then, they were so fresh and now its all about making money and suckering the public...

  • thank you so much for this, i have been putting off watching it for ages because I have such great expectations of it, I hope they live up to it, but with Edward G.Robinson and Joan Bennett I would imagine that they will!

  • @keiraa11 Say, I AM old fashioned and I LOVE what you said. :-) So true! =)

  • There will never be another like Edward G. Robinson. Never. A big fan of his.

  • thank you

  • fritz rang is best.
