Hehe not if you're from Denmark, like I am. We only use blue light. Really a shame that Danish firefighters aren't allowed to put that on our vehicles..

I've seen the so-called "pride" in a lot of volly departments. Some are good, some are very... very bad. What you call 'pride' can turn into a serious power trip. Where some no-name good-ole-boy gets a big head becuase he's "everybody's buddy" in his little one-fish town. I've seen strctures burn to the ground from "pride" instead of "professionalism". I've also pulled my share of limp bodies from buildings, and picked a few off the side of a cliff myself, thanks.

it's "way over done" until he has to respond to a call and some driver not paying attention won't pull over "because I didn't see the lights"...

in Virginia you can have no more than two red or red/white flashing or steady lights - so the most you can have is a half-loaded full-size bar, or a minibar... I think the best setup is a single magnetic roof rotator (you can put it on the rear deck if it rains) and one of those dashboard rotators with mirrors on either side for front visibility.
