This is another one of my so-called 'soundscapes'. My method is in essence a simple one: I combine different sequences or samples of different musics, in order to shape a new sound that reveals a musical result in a new context. The pictures are from the worldwideweb.

In this soundscape I've combined and mixed soundbites and sequences from very different musical genres, composed by:
- Philip Dadson, a composer/sound performer from New Zealand ; sequences from 'An Archeology of stones', including a 'sound story' with a voice speaking in Maori, the language of the native population of New Zealand of the same name, the Maori.
- Shubha Mudgal, a raga singer and composer from India ; raga-based music ; an excerpt from the film 'Dance of the wind'
- Aulis Sallinen, Finnish composer ; symphonic 20th century classical music ; an excerpt from his 6th symphony
- Lalo Schifrin, Argentinian-American composer-pianist ; sequences from the film 'THX1138'
- sequences of a minimal music piece by La Monte Young
- Abdullah Ibrahim, South African composer and jazz pianist; sequences of album 'Remixed'

and in this soundscape I've also incorporated a heartbeat-recording

have fun...

  • Not what I was looking for.

  • C'est incroyable l'effet sur soi, son propre organisme, c'est reposant, j'ai trouvé ça super beau et énigmatique.

  • Beautifully layered, has an amazing haunting quality to it. Keep composing.

  • That was OUTSTANDING!!!! Not just pleasing on the ears. Lots of people manage that, but it had an incredible depth to it - so many layers that weren'y just there for entertainment but because without knowing it before - they needed each other.

    Wonderful.

  • Amazing, astonishing, brilliant, fantastic, simply GREAT! You are very talented, keep doing your job....congratulations, Pieter! Natali
