Dave here. This must've been recorded when Chet Atkins was first playing the guitar. It's loud and flat. Lacking in much style, which would show up later in his album, "Chet Atkins in Hollywood," and "Finger-Style Guitar." First heard the song "Alice Blue Gown" as the theme for a 40's radio program called "Mr. Chameleon, the Man of Many Faces." Those were the days; quiet & tranquil, after a devastating war.
I love to play this song and every time that thumb gets going the hair stands out on my arms.I like to play it most on my Gretsch. Thanks for sharing.Ron G
