With the Las Lomas development looming in the distant future the citizens of Santa Clarita will be not only be surprised but frustrated and bewildered and the sheer size and scope of this development. Alongside several devastating issues impacting the quality of life in our city, one piece of our heritage may also be lost with this project. This 400 year old Oak Tree.

We feel the loss of this oak would be the loss of our natural history in our valley.

Please let us know if you have any interest in helping us appose this project.

  • thats not the issue- they've been thousands of oaks they "just built around" look around this place why do you think we have the problems we have now

  • This tree should indeed be saved, Oak trees are beautiful and sacred, we have a beautiful 500 year old Oak tree in Manitoba and it's protected, a beautiful sight, just check my response

  • One lone Oak tree and they have to take it down?

Why can't they build around it? The aesthetics is worth the effort.

  • I have a bigger oak tree than that one

  • this tree wont live if its gonna be replaced somewhere else ,it needs a lot space for its roots + i'm afraid its not gonna have them... its really very old its like a history monument for this area..hope they keep it :)

  • The council here is a volunteer council and they stick their heads out on a limb to move the valley forward. Many good things are done. That said, some decisions that are made don't agree with a lot of people as well. The only way to effect how things are done is to be involved and share your thoughts with the city council. They work for us no mater how young you are. Look at the skate park issue. Thanks for your comments though. I like it.

  • the people of office suck here in Santa Clarita. I hope they stop the Las Lomas Development. I live in the contry of SCV Valley near Green Valley but I hate what our city has done with the place. I've been in the valley since I was born. F** SVC now too many dumb jerks in office now!!!!
